Minnesota Vikings long snapper Kevin McDermott may have given a new definition to the word “toughness.”

According to Courtney Cronin, a Vikings reporter for ESPN, McDermott lost the tip of his pinky finger in Thursday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. His finger was caught in a player’s facemask.

But not to worry, McDermott had his finger stitched up and was able to return to the game.

A situation that would force most of us to faint, and require a trip to the emergency room, was a quick fix for McDermott. That’s one tough dude.

Unfortunately for the Vikings, McDermott’s heroic efforts weren’t enough to get the Vikings the win. They fell 38-31 to the Rams.

McDermott is in his sixth year in the NFL. Most of that time has been spent in Minnesota, joining the Vikings in 2015. He’s played in 74 games in his professional career.

Something tells me Thursday night’s game against the Rams will be his most memorable.
