This was a surprising turn of events following Virginia Tech’s shocking loss Saturday.
Remarkably, the Hokies suffered a 49-35 loss at the hands of Old Dominion. It was the first win of the season for the Monarchs and is one of the biggest upsets of the season.
Following the loss, head coach Justin Fuente announced Sunday that DE Trevon Hill has been dismissed from the team. Fuente did not go into much detail surrounding the dismissal, but he indicated it was because of not upholding VT’s high standards.
Virginia Tech Football shared Fuente’s statement on Twitter:

Following the news of his dismissal, Hill briefly changed his Twitter profile picture to a headline of VT’s loss to Old Dominion. Andy Bitter with The Athletic shared a screen shot of Hill’s picture and tweets:
Hill has since deleted the tweet and changed his profile picture back. He was VT’s leader in sacks (3.5) and TFL (4.5) so far this season.
