Add another starting quarterback to the growing list of names that have entered the NCAA transfer portal this offseason.
Monday, Virginia Tech starter Braxton Burmeister was officially listed in the transfer portal. The news comes a few weeks after the Hokies made a coaching change, firing Justin Fuente and hiring former Penn State defensive coordinator Brent Pry to lead the program.
Burmeister was the starter for Virginia Tech during the 2021 season, playing in all 12 games. This will mark the second time the quarterback has transferred, spending 1 year at Oregon before leaving for Virginia Tech.

Burmeister had a solid season under center for the Hokies in 2021. He threw for 1,960 yards and 14 touchdowns with just 4 interceptions. He also rushed for 514 yards and a pair of touchdowns and also caught a touchdown pass.
Burmeister has officially entered the portal a week before Virginia Tech is scheduled to play Maryland in the Pinstripe Bowl. Because of his decision, the quarterback will not play in the postseason for the Hokies.
