Chris Petersen’s run at Washington has come to an end. After six seasons with the Huskies, the longtime college football coach has decided to step away from the game.
Saturday, Petersen coached in his final game as the head coach at Washington, leading the Huskies to a 38-7 win over Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl. With the victory, Washington finished the year with an 8-5 record.
In six seasons with the Huskies, Petersen led the program to a 55-26 record and won two Pac-12 titles in 016 and 2018. He also led UW to a College Football Playoff appearance in 2016, the only visit in program history.
Following Petersen’s final game of the year, Washington released an awesome farewell video for Petersen, thanking the head coach for his leadership and success:

Before he took over at Washington in 2014, Petersen served as the head coach at Boise State from 2006 through 2013. In eight seasons with the Broncos, Petersen compiled a 92-12 overall record with a 57-6 record in conference games (WAC and Mountain West).
Boise State won 10 games or more in seven of those eight seasons.
In 14 seasons as a head coach, Petersen was 147-38, winning seven conference championships in the WAC, Mountain West and Pac-12. His teams appeared in a bowl game every single season.
