Washington has landed a commitment from Temecula (Calif.) Chaparral quarterback Dash Beierly.

The 6-foot-1, 215-pound passer announced on Tuesday he has flipped his verbal pledge from Arizona to UW in the wake of Jedd Fisch’s move. Beierly, one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in his class, originally committed to Arizona last November.

As a junior, Beierly threw for 2,126 yards and 18 touchdowns while completing 62% of his passes and throwing six interceptions. He also ran for 604 yards and 12 scores in 10 games. In his first two seasons of varsity ball for Chaparral, Beierly threw 24 touchdown passes against 10 picks while rushing for 375 yards and four scores.

He’s a 3-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite and he’s ranked as the No. 32 quarterback in the class. Overall, the Composite has Beierly ranked as the No. 419 prospect in the country.

With the arrival of Fisch and offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll, the quarterback position remains a group very much in flux. UW added Demond Williams Jr. from Arizona over the weekend and lost 2024 signee Dermaricus Davis. With Will Rogers in the portal, there’s only one scholarship quarterback on the roster entering the 2024 season. That number will undoubtedly grow, but it remains to be seen by how much.

But Beierly flipping to the Huskies right away gives Fisch a piece to build on as he and his staff go about constructing the 2025 class.
