Alabama doesn’t need to give Oklahoma any fuel. The Sooners have nothing to lose and will be looking for any additional motivation on Saturday when they take on the Crimson Tide in the Orange Bowl.

So it was probably wise that Alabama defensive tackle Quinnen Williams cut himself off before giving Oklahoma — and Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Kyler Murray –some bulletin board material.

Williams spoke with the media on Thursday and was asked about Murray’s presence at quarterback. The defensive tackle seemed to be on his way to calling the Oklahoma QB overrated before catching himself mid-sentence. He then went silent and didn’t care to elaborate on the comment he was about to make.

Smart move. He might’ve had to do a few extra sprints if he would’ve finished that thought, especially with Nick Saban’s no-nonsense attitude.

Murray has lit up defenses all season long. While he hasn’t faced one nearly as talented as Alabama’s, the Crimson Tide don’t want to give the Heisman winner any extra incentive.
