Things are getting interesting in the B1G West Division!
Coming into the season, Wisconsin was the heavy favorite to win the division and potentially even the B1G Championship Game. However, a loss to BYU and a blowout loss to Michigan has sent the Badgers tumbling in the rankings and opened up quite an intriguing divisional race.

Chuck Long and Stanley Jackson analyzed the B1G West race in a recent BTN segment, and Long believes the Iowa Hawkeyes are trending in the right direction after a big win over Indiana. He also likes the way Purdue’s offense is playing and sees the Boilermakers as a team that could play a role in deciding the division.
“This Purdue team is really good right now, and they could be in that hunt,” said Long. “I think Iowa right now is poised to win that West.”
For Jackson, he also likes how Purdue is playing, but he still sees Wisconsin as the front-runner in the division.
“I gotta tell you, this Purdue offense is deadly,” Jackson explained. “I really think it’s wide open in the West. I do believe Wisconsin has the edge, but this Purdue offense is as good as any offense right now that’s playing, and they could probably beat anybody.”
