The time has come for analysts to begin making their predictions for the College Football Playoff.

The first games of the college football season are set to kick off this week. As anticipation mounts for the upcoming action, it is always a good time to debate which teams will wind up playing for a national championship.

The CBS “Inside College Football” crew recently debated which four teams will make the Playoff, and the three hosts each had some interesting selections. Aaron Murray, ex-Georgia Bulldogs QB, led off with an unsurprisingly SEC-heavy Playoff field. Murray picked Alabama, Clemson, Michigan, and Georgia playing for it all.

Houston Nutt, former SEC head coach at Arkansas and Ole Miss, also had two SEC teams in his Playoff field. He went with Clemson at No. 1 with Alabama, Georgia, and Oregon rounding out his field. Nutt was the only one without a B1G team.

Brian Jones, former Texas and NFL linebacker, finished up the segment with his field which had arguably the most surprising selection of all. Jones picked Georgia and Clemson for the top two spots, but he had Michigan State as a surprise No. 3 seed in the Playoff. Oregon was Jones’ fourth team.
