Saturdays are great.

Especially in the fall.

College football rules on Saturdays and ESPN’s College GameDay does a great job — for 3 hours — getting you ready for the next 12-or-so hours ahead of straight football. It’s awesome. Even the signs are sweet.

But, some of the stories that are told during that 3-hour span are what really make College GameDay that much better.

For Week 2, at College Station, Texas, the show aired a segment which told the stories of the late Washington State QB Tyler Hilinski and Max Maisel. The two of them ended their lives three years apart.

Max’s father, who reached out to talk to Tyler’s father, told a lot of the story.
