WATCH: Hugh Freeze held his postgame presser from his hospital bed
Hugh Freeze used to coach at Ole Miss.
Now, he’s at Liberty.
That hasn’t been the only change in Freeze’s life recently. The head ball coach is overcoming a life-threatening staph infection that came his way just a couple weeks ago. It appears as though he is overcoming it, but it will take some time before he is fully recovered.

So, what did that mean for Freeze in Week 1?
It meant that he would coach Liberty from his hospital bed up in the coaches box. Liberty went on to lose the game to Syracuse 24-0. But, that’s not what matters here.
Take a look at Freeze holding his postgame presser from his hospital bed:
Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze with a different style of press conference tonight. He coached from a hospital bed in a coaches booth due to a back injury which he says he’ll have more of an update on in a few days.

You couldn’t even think to make something like this up. It’s that extraordinary.
Regardless, best of wishes to you, coach Freeze. Your heart for your team certainly can’t be questioned.
