By now, every college football fan has heard a Mike Leach rant or two, but this post-game interview may take the cake.
Washington State rolled Colorado by a final score of 31-7 Saturday. The Cougars were at No. 8 entering the weekend and likely kept their shot at the CFB Playoff alive with just one loss on the season.
The big star of the win for Washington State’s offense was quarterback Gardner Minshew. The senior completed 35-of-58 passes for 335 yards and 2 TDs while adding 26 yards and another touchdown on the ground. He has been one of the best players in the country this season, and one of Minshew’s distinguishing traits is a signature mustache.
After knocking off the Buffaloes, Minshew ran up to his coach with a fake mustache for him. To his credit, Leach went along with it while discussing the signature ‘stache in his post-game comments:
“I don’t even think he had a mustache when I recruited him,” said Leach. “I don’t recall. I don’t know why everybody only notices his, a lot of these kids have mustaches.”
