Nearly everything Mike Leach does in front of a camera goes viral these days. It’s not too surprising that an epic post-game press conference after a humiliating loss is no different.
Friday night, Leach’s No. 8 Washington State team was defeated by Cal 37-3, ruining the Cougars hopes of an undefeated season and severely hampering the team’s hopes of a College Football Playoff berth. Leach wasn’t pleased about the performance.
Leach didn’t waste any time ripping his team. It started with the first question and set the tone for the rest of the press conference.
“We didn’t play good in any aspect of the game,” Leach said. “Cal out-coached us; Cal out-played us at every position that I saw. There may be an exception, but I don’t think there is. Every position I saw Cal out-played us. They wanted to win more than we did. They tried harder than we did. They tried more consistently than we did. Our guys just sauntered around out there on the field like we’d accomplished something, which obviously is false. And Cal certainly illustrated that.”
That’s just a sample of the presser. Enjoy the rest of the show:
