Nope, that’s not Odell Beckham, Jr. It’s New Mexico State receiver Jaleel Scott.

Thursday night, New Mexico State was trailing Arizona State 14-0 early in the third quarter. On a third down play, the Aggies needed a score to hang in the game. That’s when Scott channeled his inner Beckham and hauled in a ridiculous one-handed catch:

Simply incredible. It was easily the play of the night and could even be the play of the year — though there’s still an entire college football season to played.

The catch was so phenomenal that New Mexico State’s athletic website has changed the background image on Scott’s player profile to a picture of him making the catch.

Scott finished the game with eight catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately for the Aggies, his performance wasn’t quite enough to knock off Arizona State, as the Sun Devils won 37-31.

Scott caught 23 passes for 283 yards and five touchdowns for New Mexico State last season.
