WATCH: Referee appears to suffer painful injury while signaling touchdown

It’s not everyday you see a member of the officiating crew sustain a potentially serious injury in a game.
Well, that’s certainly what appeared to happen in Saturday’s Tennessee-Georgia contest. During the game, the pylon camera captured one of the field judges react in pain while running onto the field to signal a touchdown.
The exact injury may not be known, but the CBS crew covering the game speculated that the injury appeared to be to the field judge’s Achilles. Personnel were seen examining the lower portion of his left leg, and the field judge needed to be carted off the field afterwards.

He definitely felt something unpleasant on the play. Prayers go out for a speedy recovery for this referee.
