Well, that’s a kick in the Axe.

Unfortunately, this weekend’s matchup between Minnesota and Wisconsin for Paul Bunyan’s Axe is no longer on the docket. Concerns over COVID-19 within the Gophers program has caused a cancelation, marking the third time this year the Badgers have had to call off a contest.

So, for another year, the Axe stays in Madison. And while that cancellation is disappointing, there are still six games scheduled for the weekend.

Before we make our weekly selections, here’s how our staff faired in Week 5, as well as the season standings:

  • Dustin Schutte, Managing Editor: 5-1 (21-10)
  • Paul Harvey, News Editor/Writer: 3-3 (17-14)
  • Ryan O’Gara, B1G Columnist: 3-3 (13-18)
  • Connor O’Gara, National Columnist: 2-4 (11-20)

Week 6 is officially upon us, meaning there are just three games left on the regular season schedule. Hopefully, we get a nice helping of great B1G football to go along with the turkey, mashed potatoes and pecan pie.
