Sometimes the games that look like guarantees are the toughest to predict.

Let’s take Northwestern, for example. The Wildcats were a three-touchdown favorite over Rutgers, which has been blown out of just about ever game this season. Taking Northwestern felt like guaranteed money. Instead, it was a three-point victory for the Wildcats. All three of us missed the pick.

College football, right?

We’ll try to avoid any surprises this week in the B1G. Michigan, Ohio State and Rutgers are all on an off week and Nebraska has a great chance to earn its second win of the season over Bethune-Cookman. There remaining five games are all conference matchups.

Week 9 starts on Friday night, as Indiana travels to Minnesota. It concludes with one of the more intriguing games of the weekend, as No. 18 Iowa takes on No. 17 Penn State.

Here’s how we’re picking B1G games against the spread in Week 9.

Overall record (Week 8 record):
Connor O’Gara: 33-35 (4-3)
Dustin Schutte: 33-35 (4-3)
Andrew Kulha: 26-42 (2-5)
