Fans in the SEC sometimes like to pretend that teams outside their conference don’t worry them. Often considered the best league in college football, their more concerned with themselves than teams in other Power 5 conferences.
But SEC Network’s Cole Cubelic says there are a few teams in the B1G that would scare fans of SEC programs. He named four, and with pretty good reason.
In an interview with Big Ten Network’s Take Ten podcast, Cubelic says that teams like Ohio State, Penn State, Minnesota and Wisconsin would probably be the ones that would worry SEC fans the most. The Buckeyes and Nittany Lions are no surprise, often considered the two best teams in the league.
Minnesota’s big win over Auburn in the Outback Bowl puts the Gophers in that category, according to Cubelic. The same can be said for Wisconsin’s 2016 victory against LSU at Lambeau Field.
Below are Cubelic’s thoughts on why those teams are the most concerning to SEC fans right now:
"They would either love to see it, or be terrified to play (them)…Or both." 👻
It's Spooky Szn, so we asked @colecubelic of @SECNetwork which B1G 🏈 programs 𝙎𝘾𝘼𝙍𝙀 SEC fans the most on our Take Ten Podcast.
