Whoops! Oklahoma State returns botched onside kick for touchdown
Oklahoma State needed a big play, and it got one.
The Cowboys were trailing Texas Tech late in the third quarter when the Red Raiders decided to try a surprise onside kick.
That decision quickly backfired.
Oklahoma State picked up the ball and ran it in for the score to take the lead. Here’s the play:

Texas Tech followed up that moment of brilliance with a pick-6 on its ensuing drive to give OSU a two-score lead.
Overall, the end to the third quarter of this game has been wild. Including Tech’s score to set up the botched onside kick, there have been five touchdowns in the final 7:15 of the third quarter.
Oklahoma State leads 41-31 at the end of the third quarter. The Cowboys must win this game to keep their Big 12 title hopes alive.
