Wild finish: FCS team stuns Florida State on final play of the game
It’s only Week 2 and we’ve already witnessed one of the wildest finishes of the college football season.
Late Saturday night, trailing 17-14 with 1 second remaining in the game, Jacksonville State needed to pick up 59 yards for a game-winning touchdown against Florida State. Somehow, it happened.
Zerrick Cooper completed a pass to Damond Philyaw-Johnson, who avoided multiple Seminoles defenders on his way to the end zone for a game-winning score. It was a shocker to Florida State and the college football world.

After Florida State’s strong showing against a Top 10 Notre Dame team a week ago, there was some hope the Seminoles would have a much stronger season in 2021. But Mike Norvell’s team dropped to 0-2 and a lot of questions are swirling around Tallahassee.
It was a fun finish to a college football Saturday. Well, unless you’re a Florida State fan.
