McDonald had 6 B1G players taken off the board in the first round of the draft. Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud was the No. 1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers. Stroud is having a remarkable 2022 season with 1,737 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. He has been at the top of many draft boards for a long time and McDonald placed Stroud at the top of his list.

Alabama linebacker Will Anderson was the 2nd selection to the Las Vegas Raiders. McDonald kept the Alabama theme going with quarterback Bryce Young being drafted by the Detroit Lions as the No. 3 overall draft pick. Anderson and Young could continue to flip positions over the next 6 months.

Here is every B1G player in McDonald’s mock draft:

  • 1. Carolina Panthers – QB CJ Stroud, Ohio State
  • 8. Pittsburgh Steelers – OT Paris Johnson Jr., Ohio State
  • 10. Jacksonville Jaguars – WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Ohio State
