Nathan Mays is a senior quarterback at Youngstown State. He suffered a season-ending injury earlier in the year, ending his collegiate career — at least he thought.
He probably didn’t envision playing again this season, but on Saturday, he did. It wasn’t a meaningful play in terms of determining the outcome of the game, but Mays did indeed see the field.
Once up 21-3, Youngstown State called a timeout with 10 seconds left in the game. The Penguins then carried Mays onto the field with the help of his teammates so that he could take the final snap of his career and take a knee:
This is awesome 👏
