Deuce Spann’s move to wide receiver continues to pay off with a big grab in his second consecutive game.

In the Week 0 matchup with Nebraska, Spann hauled in a deep ball that almost went for a touchdown. Though it set up a score for Illinois, the touchdown was waved off with the ball marked out at the one-yard line.

Fortunately, Spann found the end zone in Week 1 against UT San Antonio. After Illinois ran a misdirection play in the backfield, Spann found himself wide open down the left sideline. Artur Sitkowski put the throw on the money with Spann spinning his way into the end zone.

It went for 31 yards and the first points of the night for the Illini:

Spann now has 2 catches for 76 yards and a score to begin his WR career. He looks like a legit weapon for Illinois in his new role.
