Brad Underwood, Ayo Dosunmu give high praise to Adam Miller after stellar debut
Illinois basketball has a lot of momentum heading into the 2020-21 season, and true freshman Adam Miller is a big reason why.
The Illini dominated North Carolina A&T 122-60 on Wednesday afternoon, securing their first win of the season.
Both Miller and preseason All-American Ayo Dosunmu scored 28 points in the win. Miller had 19 in the first half, matching North Carolina A&T’s total before the break.
Miller also broke the program record for points by a freshman in a debut game.
After the game, both Dosnumu and head coach Brad Underwood gave praise to Miller for his collegiate debut.
#illini Brad Underwood: We get off to a really good start because of a freshman. Thought Adam was tremendous.

Miller finished with 28 points on 12 shots, including 6-of-8 from 3-point range. He also grabbed three rebounds and dished out three assists.
Dosnumu highlighted Miller’s maturity and unselfishness after the game.
#Illini guard Ayo Dosunmu on Adam Miller: "His best attribute is shooting the ball. He plays above his age."
"I think (today) was very successful because we got the win."

Dosunmu and Miller could prove to be one of the best backcourts in college basketball this season. In the season opener, that duo combined for 56 points, 21-of-30 shooting, 11-of-16 from beyond the arc, 13 rebounds and 8 assists.
Illinois’ next game is on Thursday against Chicago State. The Illini also play on Friday vs. Ohio.
