Illinois star Ayo Dosunmu suffered a leg injury at the end of Tuesday night’s home loss to Michigan State, but the Illini received some good news throughout the week, learning that he’ll be day-to-day.
Dosunmu traveled with the team to Piscataway on Saturday, as Illinois prepares to play Rutgers at the RAC. There’s a chance that the star sophomore steps on the court this afternoon, as well.
According to college basketball insider Jon Rothstein, Dosunmu will be a game-time decision for the Illini. They are looking to hand Rutgers its first loss at the RAC in the 2019-20 season.

This season, Dosunmu is averaging 15.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. He’s shooting 47 percent from the floor.
Illinois enters Saturday’s game with a 16-8 record, but is in the middle of a three-game losing streak. The Illini have dropped consecutive games to Iowa, Maryland and Michigan State.
Rutgers, which is 17-8 on the season, is a perfect 16-0 in home games.
