While Underwood was frustrated with how the team played, he complimented how Penn State handled themselves throughout the game. Underwood stated that Illinois has played uninspired basketball since returning from Madison Square Garden after beating No. 2 Texas.
“They played like grown men,” said Underwood. “We’ve played very uninspired basketball. That’s leadership. Put it in damn bold print. Leadership. Lack thereof.”
