Brad Underwood: Rutgers 'kicked our ass' in a Pizza Hut parking lot during upset loss
Illinois is looking to rebound from an upset loss to Rutgers. During his Friday press conference, head coach Brad Underwood found some choice words to describe that midweek performance from the Illini.
According to Jeremy Werner with the Illini Inquirer, Underwood claimed the Scarlet Knights “kicked our ass” in a Pizza Hut parking lot. Underwood also said the Illini were “punked” and that getting out-toughed in a game “pisses me off.”
#illini Brad Underwood on getting out-toughed: “That pisses me off. That’s bullshit right there. …We got punked. They took it to us.”

Feisty Brad Underwood is fun.

Underwood also previewed the Michigan State game on Saturday, saying he expects another physical battle from Tom Izzo’s squad. He also admitted losing to Rutgers in the fashion they did “hurt my soul.”
#illini Brad Underwood is expecting a physical game per usual at Michigan State. I expect a hard-fought battle. I expect us to fight harder than we did.

Saturday’s game vs. Michigan State should be especially hard-fought with the Spartans also coming off a disappointing stretch. Izzo’s squad lost to Penn State during the week and is mired in a 4-5 stretch, including their own road loss vs. Rutgers.
Saturday’s tip-off between the Spartans and Illini is set for 12 pm EST on ESPN.
