Everyone loves a coach who will say interesting things. Bret Bielema has proven to be that guy in the past and he’s still showing his character at Illinois. Just one game into his tenure in, he’s already provided the B1G with a viral comment.

Saturday, Bielema led the Fighting Illini to a 30-22 victory over Nebraska despite being a touchdown underdog. When Illinois batted the football to the ground on the final pass from Adrian Martinez to secure the win, the camera panned over to Bielema.

In a snapshot moment, it appeared that Bielema was emotional after securing his first win in Champaign. Apparently, that was not the case.

“I was just sweating,” Bielema told reporters after the game.

Even though he left the B1G a decade ago and hasn’t been a college football head coach in three years, he’s still got that same personality. It’s fun for reporters and fans alike,

Clearly, the players must like it quite a bit, too.

Illinois is back in action on Saturday, taking on UTSA in an effort to improve to 2-0 on the year.
