Illinois head coach Bret Bielema gave a passionate halftime interview following the first half of Michigan-Illinois Saturday afternoon.

The Fighting Illini are indeed fighting, too. Illinois trails just 7-3, leaning on strong defense to keep it a 1-score game against one of the best teams in the country.

Bielema noted that the Illini have to paly not just the Wolverines, but 110,000 of their closest friends, playing in the Big House.

For all their prowess on defense following the first drive of the game by the Wolverines, the Illini offense has not been able to get anything going. Illinois has just 140 total yards of offense.

Star running back Blake Corum went down for Michigan at the end of the first half. Obviously, everyone hopes that the Heisman candidate is okay, but it does ease the stress of the Illini defense should he not be able to return to action soon.
