Bret Bielema, Illinois head coach, had high praises for Nebraska head coach Mickey Joseph ahead of the Illini’s matchup with the Cornhuskers on Saturday.

Joseph took over as head coach after Scott Frost was fired earlier this season.

Bielema recognized the impact that Joseph has already had on the team, sighting that the team already looks different in all aspects of the game — offense, defense and special teams.

Bielema also recognized the level of talent Nebraska has, calling them a “very talented football team.”

Since Frost’s firing, Joseph has led the Cornhuskers to a 2-2 record. Illinois will be their biggest matchup so far.

Contradicting Nebraska’s shaky season has been Bielema’s season so far with Illinois. The Illini are currently 6-1 and are entering the game on a 5-game win streak.
