Bret Bielema recaps victory over Nebraska, locker room atmosphere during CBS Sports appearance
The Bret Bielema era is off to a strong start after Illinois’ 30-22 victory vs. Nebraska in the season opener.
Bielema is replacing Lovie Smith after Illinois posted a 2-6 record in 2020. Heading into the season, Illinois was considered one of the most underrated teams in the B1G this season, according to CBS Sports.
Bielema joined CBS Sports Network recently and discussed a variety of subjects, including the atmosphere in the locker room after the victory.
“I hadn’t thought a lot about the post game locker room… I came in and saw them all huddled and I knew they didn’t want to body surf me… we had a couple good moments.” @IlliniFootball HC @BretBielema talks about beating Nebraska and his first year experience. pic.twitter.com/fxr5tzFI0z
