Four Illinois walk-on football players received the ultimate surprise this week.

Tuesday night, new head coach Bret Bielema rewarded four players with scholarships for their continued hard work and commitment to the program. The four players to receive scholarships were defensive back Christian defensive back Bobak, Tailon Leitzey, linebacker Michael Marchese and linebacker Alec McEachern.

Bielema was in front of the meeting room and addressed the entire team, asking all the players to come to the front with Bobak, Leitzey, Marchese and McEachern in the center of the group. When everyone had gathered around, Bielema informed the four players about their new scholarships.

These are always some of the best moments in college football. And for the four new scholarship players, it’ll be a memory they keep for a very long time.
