While Illinois’ offense couldn’t finish the game against No. 20 Minnesota, it would be the special teams that makes the big play.

On 4th-and-3, Illinois punter Blake Hayes makes a clutch punt that goes for 41-yards and took a good bounce to the Minnesota 2-yard line.

After the play, Hayes created a unique celebration by acting like he was breaking an oar with his knee. This was an obvious troll towards Minnesota and head coach P.J. Fleck’s famous phrase of ‘row the boats’.

Minnesota tried to get a drive going with 1:04 left in the game but quarterback Tanner Morgan threw a costly interception by safety Kerby Joseph with 38 seconds left in the game.

Illinois won the game 14-6 to improve to 4-6 on the year.
