Illinois is on a roll in Bret Bielema’s second year at the helm, picking up wins in their last two contests against Virginia and Chattanooga.

BTN analyst Jake Butt recently broke down the success of Illinois’ offense, saying that it’s due in large part to individuals like Chase Brown and transfer portal grab Tommy DeVito being able to ‘gel’ on the field. Butts praised their ability to make effective plays for the Illini.

“This offense is built around number two. Even when he’s not getting carries, look at how he effects the defense. I don’t know if this safety is reading a run key, or if they’re just committing him to the box. What you’re gonna have behind the run is a bang post. Tommy DeVito does some play action, and this guy is flying down hill.”

Illinois heads to Wisconsin next for Bielema’s return to Madison Saturday at noon ET on BTN.
