Doug Kramer’s super-senior season is off to a strong start.

The Illinois center was dominant at the line of scrimmage during the team’s opener against Nebraska last weekend. According to a tweet from the Illini football program, Kramer was credited with an incredible 19.5 knockdowns against the Huskers.

It’s hard to imagine a much stronger performance from the seasoned offensive lineman. His performance was a huge reason why the Illini posted a 30-22 victory over Nebraska.

Kramer was quick to agree to come back to Illinois after the 2020 season and the coaching change. His decision also prompted veteran offensive linemen Vederian Lowe and Alex Palczewski to come back for another year, as well.

That paid off for Illinois in Week 0, starting the Bret Bielema era off with a 1-0 record.

Illinois will attempt to dominate the line of scrimmage again this weekend in another home matchup, this time against UTSA.
