Chase Brown leading the way among FBS running backs in rushing yards
Illinois running back Chase Brown leads the nation in rushing yards following the Illini’s win over Virginia Saturday.
The junior has amassed 496 yards across 3 games, leading Illinois to a 2-1 start. He picked 146 yards in his first game, 199 in the second and 151 against Virginia on Saturday.
Brown has a hefty lead on the man in second, Nebraska’s Anthony Grant, who has 428 yards.
Brown was a 1,000+ yard rusher last season and he is on pace to do it again this season and pass his career high of 1,005.
The Fighting Illini are shaping up to have a solid season. They are off to a 2-1 start with their loss coming to Indiana, who is scorching hot right now. Illinois takes on Chattanooga next week before getting into the brunt of conference play, starting with Nebraska.
