Chase Brown leads nation in significant rushing category through Week 6
Chase Brown has been tearing through defenses on the ground, and currently leads the nation in rushing yards through six games. There is now another stat that the Illinois RB is leading the nation in.
PFF announced that Brown now has 515 yards rushing after contact, which leads all players in the country. This is becoming quite the special season for Brown. He already has 879 yards rushing and 5 total touchdowns as if that wasn’t impressive enough.
Illinois is now ranked 24th in the country after beating Iowa 9-6 on Saturday. The Fighting Illini have now won 4 straight after losing to Indiana in Week 1. Bret Bielema has his team in position to compete for a B1G West title.
Brown has rushed for 100+ yards rushing in every single game for Illinois this season, even in the loss to Indiana.
We’ll see how Brown reacts to QB Tommy DeVito potentially missing some time after injuring his ankle against the Hawkeyes.
