Illinois has landed a late commitment from Florida athlete Xavier Scott. The 2022 prospect made his announcement on Monday, just two days prior to National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 2.
Scott made his announcement with a social media post on Monday. The message was short and sweet, saying “100% committed,” with an Illinois graphic.
Six other schools showed interest in Scott during the recruiting process. He picks the Fighting Illini over offers from Air Force, FAU, Georgia State, UMass, Navy and Pitt.

The Palm Beach Gardens native does not currently have any ratings from 247Sports. Th 6-foot, 180-pound athlete will join a 2022 recruiting class for Illinois that ranks No. 44 nationally and No. 10 in the B1G.
Scott is one of 26 high school prospects that will be on the Illinois roster for the 2022 season.
