With the Iowa loss to Nebraska this game means even more. If Purdue can somehow lose to Indiana, it opens the door Illinois to win the B1G West.
However, this game is all about proving who the best team in the state of Illinois is. Illinois won last year’s meeting by a score of 47-14 in Champaign. Northwestern won the 2020 matchup 28-10 in Evanston.
