Illinois’ offensive line is receiving some assistance.

On Saturday, former FCS All-American offensive lineman Blake Jeresaty announced that he will be transferring to Illinois. He joins the Fighting Illini after spending four seasons at Wofford. Jeresaty will have one year of eligibility remaining and will be immediately eligible.

“It’s time to go B1G,” Jeresaty wrote on Twitter. “I’m excited to announce my commitment to The University of Illinois! Thank you to my Wofford teammates, coaches and peers for the last four years — I will always be grateful. Time to take the next step.”

Jeresaty redshirted his first season at Wofford (2016) and did not see any action that year. After that, he was a regular on the offensive line and started in all 24 games in the last two years with the Terriers. In total, Jeresaty brings 35 games of experience to Champaign, along with 29 starts.

Illinois finished last season with a 6-7 record and earned a berth in the Redbox Bowl.
