Former Illinois running back Reggie Corbin is having an outstanding start to his USFL career. The Michigan Panthers ball carrier leads the league in multiple rushing categories already.

Through seven games this season, Corbin leads the USFL in three rushing categories and ranks in the Top 10 in another. It’s a great start for a player who produced at a high level during his time in Champaign.

Corbin has rushed for 516 yards (1st in USFL), averages 6.3 yards per carry (1st in USFL) and is posting 86 yards per game on the ground (1st in USFL). His 82 rushing attempts ranks 6th in the league and he hasn’t lost a single fumble.

Corbin also has 2 rushing touchdowns for the Panthers this season.

Unfortunately for the Panthers, Corbin’s success on the ground hasn’t translated to wins on the field. Michigan is just 1-6 through the first seven contests of the year.

During his time at Illinois, Corbin finished with 2,361 yards and 18 touchdowns. With his success in the USFL, there’s a chance the former Illini RB could get some looks from the NFL for the upcoming 2022 campaign.
