The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed their sixth kicker of the year as they officially announced the signing of Chase McLaughlin.
The announcement came earlier today via the Jaguars official Twitter account:
We have signed K Chase McLaughlin off Minnesota’s practice squad to our active roster.
He will be placed on our exempt/commissioner permission list as he goes through the testing and screening protocols and does not currently count against the 53-man roster. pic.twitter.com/bimVExOxmO

McLaughlin was on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad before signing with Jacksonville. Before that, he spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Chargers, and the San Francisco 49ers.
All of that came during just last season where he was 18-for-23 on field goals and 26-for-26 on extra points.
Before going to the NFL, he was the kicker at Illinois where he finished second on the school’s all-time list in field goals made and total points.
He made 44 of 69 field goals during his time at Illinois (2015-2018) and made all 79 of his extra-point attempts. The only kicker higher on the list is Jason Reda, who was at the school from 2004-2007.
Hopefully McLaughlin gets a serious shot to stick as the main option in Jacksonville.
