A Former Illini defender might be rethinking his decision to transfer to Auburn.

T.J. Neal decided to take his frustration stemming from a lack of playing to Twitter following Auburn’s loss to Clemson. The former middle linebacker at Illinois sent a string of tweets voicing his displeasure:

Neal, who had played his previous three seasons at Illinois, also mentioned his statistics and pointed to his experience in prior tweets to attempt to get his point across.

According to his statistics on auburntigers.com, Neal has 245 total tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss in his 25 starts with the Illini. He was awarded with Academic All-B1G honors in 2015.

Neal was one of several members of the Illinois football team that decided to transfer after a swirling coaching carousel kept players uncertain about their future.

Had he decided to remain in Champaign, he would’ve been a significant contributor to the Illini defense. The number of snaps he saw wouldn’t have been an issue.
