Reggie Corbin had an outstanding career during his college days at Illinois, and now he’ll get a chance to prove he can find success at the next level.

On Tuesday, the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League announced that Corbin was one of three players being added to the roster. This will be the first professional stop for the former Illinois running back, whose career ended following the 2019 season in Champaign.

Corbin rushed for 2,361 yards and 18 touchdowns during his four seasons with the Fighting Illini. He was also credited with making 38 catches for 343 yards out of the backfield.

The 2018 season was the most productive for Corbin, racking up 1,085 yards and 9 touchdowns on 128 carries for the Fighting Illini while also adding 176 yards on 16 receptions. In his final year at Illinois, he was a big part of a 6-7 squad that reached bowl eligibility for only time under then-head coach Lovie Smith.

Corbin rounded out his career in 2019 with 675 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns.

The BC Lions’ season will begin on Sunday, May 23 with a preseason contest an the regular season will start on Saturday, June 12.
