Penn State and Illinois are squaring off in Champaign for a key B1G crossover matchup in Week 3. According to reports from Memorial Stadium, a heavy presence of NFL scouts and representatives are expected to be present for the game.

Michael Cohen with FOX Sports reported that 14 scouts and executives from 10 NFL teams are expected to be in attendance. The Detroit Lions, Atlanta Falcons and Chicago Bears are all expected to have multiple representatives while the Lions will have 3 representatives present per Cohen.

One interesting twist is that some of the best NFL prospects in Saturday’s game will not be eligible for the 2024 NFL Draft. Penn State QB Drew Allar and star RB duo Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen are all true sophomores, meaning that trio cannot enter the draft until 2025.

Overall, there will not be a shortage of NFL prospects in action. On the Illinois side of the ball, the defensive line duo of Keith Randolph and Johnny Newton are expected to be interesting names to watch for the 2024 NFL Draft.

In regard to Penn State, offensive tackle Olu Fashanu is expected to be in the mix to become the top OT taken in April’s draft and a potential top-5 pick. Junior CB Kalen King and WR KeAndre Lambert-Smith are also players likely on the radar of NFL teams this fall.
