Many may have doubted Illinois would reach a bowl game this season, but Jamal Woods is not one of them.

The 2019 season has definitely been one to remember for the Illini. Lovie Smith has already guided this Illinois team to a 6-4 record and bowl eligibility. That alone has guaranteed the best season for the Illini since 2014, but the team now has a chance to reach seven wins for the first time since 2011.

It has not been an easy journey. Among their accomplishments this season, the Illini upset a Wisconsin squad on homecoming and posted the largest comeback in school history last week against Michigan State. But if you were to ask DL Jamal Woods, he would tell you he predicted this run a long time ago.

Woods has produced 5.5 tackles for loss and half a sack this season. He can now also say that he called bowl eligibility for Illinois.
