The 2019 season has definitely been one to remember for the Illini. Lovie Smith has already guided this Illinois team to a 6-4 record and bowl eligibility. That alone has guaranteed the best season for the Illini since 2014, but the team now has a chance to reach seven wins for the first time since 2011.

Among their accomplishments this season, the Illini upset a Wisconsin squad on homecoming and posted the largest comeback in school history last week against Michigan State. Woods has produced 5.5 tackles for loss and half a sack this season. He can now also say that he called bowl eligibility for Illinois.
