Illini players hit Slip N Slide celebration after dominant showing in rain-soaked Ross-Ade Stadium
Illinois could get used to this winning thing!
After a four-game losing streak dropped the Illini to 2-4, head coach Lovie Smith and company responded in style. They started the turnaround with an improbable upset of heavy favorite Wisconsin in Week 8.
In Week 9, the Illini kept rolling, shutting down Purdue on a dreary day in West Lafayette. Illinois was down-right stifling on defense while scoring enough to cruise to a 24-6 win over the Boilermakers.
After the win, the Illini decided to have a bit of fun in celebrating. Multiple players took advantage of the rain-soaked turf to bust out a make-shift Slip N Slide celebration line.

After the win lifted Illinois to 4-4, it’s entirely possible that a bowl game becomes a reality for the Illini. They need just two wins over the final four games against Rutgers, Michigan State, Iowa, and Northwestern to get six wins.
