The Illinois Fighting Illini had another huge win on Saturday, taking down Wisconsin by a score of 34-10 in Madison.

Illinois Athletic Director Josh Whitman already had plenty of reason to be excited about this season, as his team has been much improved over their 5-7 campaign in 2021. On Saturday after the huge win in Wisconsin, Whitman shared his excitement on Twitter.

Whitman has been the Athletic Director for Illinois since 2016, and the football team has gone through many struggles since then. Whitman oversaw the removal of Lovie Smith and the hiring of current head coach Brett Bielema.

The classic Russell Crowe scene from Gladiator seemed to perfectly describe how Whitman feels to this point. This is only the 2nd win over Wisconsin in the last 15 years for the Fighting Illini, so the team and fanbase are rightfully pumped up.

Fighting Illini Head Coach Brett Bielema had to be thrilled as well to get a huge win over his former employer. With the huge win over the Badgers, Illinois moves to 4-1 on the year and 1-1 in B1G play. The Fighting Illini will have another tough conference matchup next week, as they welcome the Iowa Hawkeyes to town.
