Illinois adds 2023 commitment from California JUCO OL

Illinois has added another player for 2023. The Illini picked up a JUCO commitment on Saturday.
Will Leys, an offensive lineman out of Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California, has pledged to play for Bret Bielema’s program. He shared the big news on his Twitter page.

Leys arrived at Saddleback from Servite High School where he lettered in football and rugby before graduating in 2021. At Saddleback, Leys was named All-National Division Southern League second team in November 2022.
Leys also picked up offers from Tennessee Tech, Missouri State, Delaware State, Western Illinois, Northern Colorado, NAU, New Mexico, Buffalo and Texas State. Illinois extended its offer on May 17.

Saddleback’s website lists Leys as measuring 6-3 and 285 pounds. His freshman highlights can be viewed below, via Hudl:
