Illinois adds 2024 pledge from heavily-recruited Edge out of Florida

Illinois is picking up another piece for the 2024 recruiting class, landing a commitment from an Edge prospect out of Florida.
The player is Josaiah Knight, a 6-foot-3.5 and 230-pound prospect out of Gadsden County High School in Tallahassee, Florida. Power 5 programs to extend offers to Knight include Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Maryland, Mizzou and Purdue with a number of other programs also interested.
In the end, the work of Bret Bielema’s stuff landed Knight’s commitment per Jeremy Werner with the Illini Inquirer.

The long, strong, twitchy EDGE had several other Power Five offers, including Georgia Tech, Missouri, Cincinnati, Arkansas, Maryland and Purdue.

The 247 Sports Composite rates Knight as a 3-star recruit and the 55th overall Edge prospect for the class of 2024. He’s the 18th player committed to Illinois for the cycle, a group that ranks 42nd nationally per the 247 Sports Team Composite.
