Illinois has added a long snapper to its 2020 recruiting class.

Wednesday, the Illini received a commitment from Reed Reagin, a native of Georgia. He announced his decision on National Signing Day, adding to Illinois’ 2020 class. Reagin made his announcement public on Twitter.

“I will be continuing my football and academic career at the University of Illinois,” Reagin wrote in a note.

According to Rubio Long Snapping, Reagin is ranked as one of the top 100 long snapper prospects available in the 2020 class. His commitment is a significant one for Lovie Smith and company, which saw one of its previous long snappers transfer following the 2019 season.

Nolan Rossback announced his decision to leave Illinois for Michigan State earlier this offseason.

Illinois’ 2020 class is a small one heading into National Signing Day, with just 13 high school and junior college prospects committed. The Illini rank 87th nationally and last in the B1G for the 2020 cycle.
